ÀÚ¿¬ÀÇ ÈûÀº °Å´ëÇÏ´Ù. ¿ì¸®´Â ±×¸¦ ÅëÁ¦Çϰųª ±Øº¹Çϱ⺸´Ù´Â ÃÖ¼ÒÇѸ¸À» »ç¿ëÇÏ°íÀÚ ÇÑ´Ù. µû¶ó¼­ ¿ì¸®´Â compactnessÀÇ ¹æ¹ýÀ¸·Î½á ÀÌ»óÀûÀÎ citadel-´ëÁßÀÇ ¡®¿µ¿øÇÑ Áý¡¯, °Å´ëÇÑ À½¾ÇÀÇ µµ½Ã-À» °Ç¼³Çϱâ·Î ÇÏ¿´´Ù. ÀÌ´Â ¹Ù´Ù¶ó´Â À̹ÌÁö¿¡ À־´Â ¿Üµý¼¶À̰ųª ¸Á¸Á´ëÇظ¦ Ç×ÇØÇÏ´Â °Å´ëÇÑ ¹èÀ̸ç, ¿ª»ç ¼Ó¿¡ Á¸ÀçÇÏ´Â ¿Ü¼¼·ÎºÎÅÍ ¹æ¾îÀûÀÎ autonomousÇÑ ¼ºÃ¤À̱⵵ ÇÏ´Ù. ±×°÷¿¡ µé¾î°¡¸é ¸ðµç °Í- enjoyable, entertaining, educational and cultural experience-À» ¸¸³¯ ¼ö ÀÖÀ» °ÍÀÌ´Ù.

The power of nature is, without doubt, enormous. We dare not to control or overcome that power. Instead, we intend to borrow and utilize the least parts of it. That's why we made a clear decision to construct a citadel, namely, an eternal palace of the public, or the gigantic city of the music by using the method of compactness. Rather than trying to make architectural elements in the site have organic relationship with urban context, we tried to make them separated from the outside and integrated intensively. As a strategy, functional programs, other than ones for open air space such as exterior deck and theme park, are centralized in a grand concrete box, the purpose of which is to make up a paradise separated from the world outside. With a marine image, it can be an isolated island, or a titanic ship navigating an expand ocean. It can also be an autonomous citadel in an old history built up to defend itself from any foreign forces. In it, you can meet what you have expected, that is, enjoyable, entertaining, educational and cultural experience.

ÀÌ´Â µ¿ÂÊÀÇ ¸Õ¹Ù´Ù¿Í °­·ÂÇÑ formal dialogue¸¦ ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ´Ù.

We intend to introduce a new metaphor, or a floating stone, for the discovery of, or for the revelation of, unknown values in the world. The stone itself could be a part of mother land, the earth, or be a cultural object which has not revealed itself yet under the cover of long and eternal history. The huge stone, the expected size of which is 80 meters by 110 meters by 55 meters, centralizes mysteriousness of great and brilliant 5,000 years old Korean civilization. And these historic knowledge has just begun to loom toward the infinite future world. The stone, just as all the other intellectual accumulations concerning Korean civilizations, has multiplicate and complicated property. What it means is that it has a labyrinthic structure, a spatial structure which is very simple in appearance, however, cannot be grasped totally in a glance by any means. The stone appears to carry in its characteristic massiveness. Meanwhile, looking at its contents, it is expressed by the idea of centrality which is unfixed, and so, is always flexible in nature. It is our pure desire to symbolize the opera complex as a total incarnation of the knowledge of the period by embodying in the stone performing art area, the most important part of the program, and its attached functions - educational facilities, exhibition area, circulation system, etc, for instance - and also by lifting it lightly from the bottom ground on the upper part of the floating stone, a grand terrace will be formed as a inner garden, which is open toward the sky, to provide you with a green area. And, accordingly, the floating stone will create its own formal dialogues with the offing in the east.
